\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Ever since we lived in Europe I have a fixation with Poppy (Amapola in Spanish, my native language) and Lavender fields. I was out with my husband one weekend and saw poppies right beside the highway!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0I couldn’t resist and had to bring a couple of flowers home (I didn’t know it was illegal to cut flowers on state highways). I placed the poppies in water as soon as we came home and they looked so sad the rest of the evening. I felt so bad that I had killed them for nothing but to my surprise they were beautiful the next day in the morning.<\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0These photos were taken using a computer monitor as background. The light comes from a window behind and of course I had to use my tripod and remote switch.<\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0As you can tell I was enthralled by the beauty of the poppy. The time I spent observing it from different angles made me see it in a different way.<\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0The waves of it’s petals made me think of a flamenco dress and the boldness of it’s color in all the passion displayed in a Tablao (the guitars, the cantaores, the dancers). I think I should call this set of photos “Flamenco Passion”.<\/p>\n

\nlas arrugas y tambi\u00e9n lo et\u00e9reo
\nlo ef\u00edmero y lo que se lleva el viento
\ny de ella un color que se queda en la pupila todo un invierno
\namapola, alita silvestre, que se va con el fr\u00edo y vuelve con el sol
\ny acompa\u00f1a al trigo y al labriego
\nse alimenta de luz y se cierra en las noches
\ny su p\u00e9talo es bueno para elevarse al cielo
\ny de ella saco la tinta para escribirte primero
\ncon tinta de amapolas
\ntinta mi casa, tinto mi vino, tinte de luz
\ncon tinta de amapolas lo ti\u00f1o primero
\npor que su c\u00e1liz tiene de beso
\npor que puede que te vean roja y puede que te vean negra
\nquien quiera que te vea pobre, quien quiera que te vea rica
\ndel alma extraigo la tinta, extraje ideas, extraer\u00e9 primaveras
\npara acercarme a tu amapola o a tu espiga jactanciosa
\nvoy y vengo como p\u00e9talo a la deriva en un viento rojo de sue\u00f1os
\ny en mi vuelo aprendo el canto y aprendo a extraer la tinta
\ntinta de amapolas
\ntinta de besos
\ntinta para escribirte, yo primero…<\/p>\n
